Mötley Crüe Singer Faces Domestic Violence Charges for Poking With Index Finger

When celebrities get mixed-up with legal matters, media outlets everywhere jump on the story. Whether it's a nasty celebrity divorce or domestic assault incident, the incident becomes a top story. Unfortunately, in many cases, viewers all too often draw their own conclusions and lose sight of the real facts of the story.

A case in point involves Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil. According to E! News, the singer is facing charges of battery domestic violence and disorderly conduct after allegedly "confronting" his ex-girlfriend, her date and a couple of her friends at the Las Vegas Hilton last month.

Most people would equate a battery domestic violence charge to something serious. Large bruises, broken bones, or serious physical ailments probably come to mind. However, reports show that when Neil approached the group, he shouted obscenities and innocently poked a couple of people with his right index finger-a bit less abrasive than a typical domestic violence incident.

However, despite the facts, Neil still faces domestic violence charges.

In Nevada, unfortunately, considerable, violent physical altercations are not needed to charge someone with domestic violence. However, the charge is still serious nonetheless and the accused faces not only direct consequences of a domestic violence conviction (like hefty fines and jail time) but indirect consequences such as a lack of employment opportunities and damage to one's reputation.

E! News reports that Neil says he is not guilty of the charges and is "looking forward to going to court and defending himself vigorously."

If you are facing a domestic violence charge, hiring an experienced Las Vegas criminal defense attorney is vital. A conviction can carry a jail sentence of up to five years. Your attorney can provide the aggressive defense you need to mitigate the consequences that could stem from these types of charges.
